A graduate of Carleton University, Trevor has been with McCay Duff for more than 25 years. An active member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Trevor specializes in corporate and personal tax preparation and planning, personal financial planning, estate planning and private corporation and shareholder taxation. An avid photographer, Trevor also pursues many outdoor activities including canoeing, hiking, windsurfing and fishing. Little-known fact: He once had a summer job as a member of the Governor General’s Foot Guards.

April Wheeler has been working in public accounting for over 14 years at McCay Duff LLP. She provides services to a variety of clients, including small businesses, not-for-profits, hotels, and commercial leasing enterprises. Her specialties include accounting and auditing, tax preparation, financial accounting and reporting, assurance and financial audits.

April takes pride in assisting her clientele understand what their numbers mean and how they can contribute to strategic growth. Colleagues and clients describe her as trustworthy, efficient, and a good listener. She excels in project management, overseeing the work of professional staff, providing timely feedback to clients and her team, ultimately delivering quality work and exceptional client service.

April is a graduate of Algonquin College with a Professional Accounting Diploma and Laurentian University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. Currently, April is an online facilitator for Algonquin College, helping to train and mentor the next generation of accounting professionals.

April has served as Treasurer on the Board of the Ottawa Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute. She has also volunteered with the Look Good Feel Better Program for Women Living with Cancer. As a cancer survivor herself, April is passionate about supporting cancer research and has helped raise thousands of dollars through various charities with her efforts to pay it forward.

Her other volunteer activities have included coaching the Chesterville Girls Minor Softball team and teaching Sunday school at her local church where she became adept at altering presentation skills based on her audience, which consisted of children of various ages. She enjoys staying active and fills her spare time participating in curling and kickboxing. April is a proud member of the Women’s Business Network of Ottawa and volunteers on the WBN’s Marketing and Communications Committee.

Fully bilingual, Stephanie received a Bachelor of Economics degree at the University of Ottawa and a Professional Accounting Diploma at Algonquin College before joining McCay Duff in 2005. Now, she delivers accounting and auditing services to her many not-for-profit and condominium clients. Her for-profit clients get the benefits of this expertise plus advice based on her extensive knowledge of tax preparation and planning. When not working, Stephanie enjoys skiing and running.

A graduate of Carleton University, Rick is a Chartered Accountant with over 22 years of public accounting experience in Canada and the United States. Rick has recently joined McCay Duff after spending 15 years in public accounting in California, the last 10 of which he spent performing business valuation and litigation support work for clients in various industries including construction, food services, retail, and professional services. Rick also has extensive experience performing audit and review engagements for clients in diverse industries and has qualified as an expert in Superior Court in California. Rick has the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is currently enrolled in the Chartered Business Valuator program of studies.

Jennifer attended Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, NS, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in accounting. She earned her CGA designation in 2005. Jennifer worked for public accounting firms in both Halifax, NS and Calgary, AB prior to moving to Ottawa in the summer of 2012. Jennifer joined McCay Duff in September 2012 and provides accounting and tax services to owner managed business clients. When not in the office, Jennifer enjoys doing cross-stitch, baking and spending time with her husband and two children.

As Information Technology Manager, Norah has been a mainstay at McCay Duff for more than three decades and counts among her accomplishments the company’s Intranet that she designed and built herself. As well as managing the internal technology and keeping the servers current, Norah was also instrumental in launching CCH Document, a document-management system that allows for increased efficiency in an office that employs more than 45 people. To take her mind off technology matters, Norah likes to spend time in the garden.
